Data Leakage Prevention
In data leakage incidents, sensitive data is revealed to unauthorized personnel either by malicious intent or unintentional mistake. DLP (Data Loss Prevention) is software that helps a network administrator manages data transfer while making sure that sensitive or critical information is not sent outside the business network. It monitors data in use (e.g., endpoint actions), data in motion (e.g., network traffic), and data at rest (e.g., data storage) through data/information leakage prevention (ILDP), information leak prevention (ILP), content monitoring and filtering (CMF), information protection and control (IPC), and extrusion prevention system (EPS).
